Something I found recently....
I was reading about a man that I had done some work for at one time and found he had this new service which I kinda find interesting.  Its called dar.fm a website that allows you to record your favorite radio show like a DVR but more like a DRR Digital Radio Recorder.  I really like this idea because I had moved from San Diego 3 years ago and found that most of the shows I listened to in the car are not in this area or there is not much for radio at all in this area.

You can sign up for free on this site but it only gives you the opportunity record 1 show at a time and up to 2gigs of space which they claim is 50 hours of radio or you can pay $40 dollars a year to get 10 times that amount.

As you can see you can listen to this in many different ways... directly from a PC or you can move it as an mp3 to your music player or your Android, Iphone, tablet which gives this total portability.

I was listening to a few shows for years and after I moved I found that I was not able to listen to them anymore.  I searched around and found that there were some radio stations that streamed online but you have to be there when the show was on the air.  I found only a couple that saved an archive of the shows for up to a week which is nice.  I even contacted the people running the shows I wanted to hear to see if they did record them and had them on a site somewhere to listen too... I never got a response.

The main page lists over 8 thousand shows available and I have found the shows I like and will probably find many more.  If you were one that had moved to a new state/city and miss your old station you most likely can still listen to it here.

Here is a short video kinda explaining how it works.
