I have recommended the insured surge protectors to some of my customers when they mention lightning damage to electronics in the house but is it really worth it?

DIRT!!!!
Okay some of you are aware that computers get dusty inside and some
have no idea how bad it gets. On a regular basis when we get a computer
in the shop we open it up to check to see how bad it is inside and take it
outside and blow out all the dust with the compressor.

Background Wallpaper
So my Father and I were sitting around tonight commenting on all the extremely nice
and vivid background pictures we get online, much better than what you normally
expect from say a website that provides background pictures professionally. Well
that gave me the idea "hey I should write about that" so here I am, and I am going
to explain how we get images like this

Qwest Centurylink 5 year lock in for 19.95
I got some mail today about the Qwest/Centurylink internet deal. Qwest merged with
Centurylink , they have been busy trying to get guaranteed customers for awhile
so they have a special lock in price of 19.95 for five years "if you have a home phone"
(most people still have a home phone).

Network Security
I got bored today and drove around town doing another survey of the Wireless
connections in town. I drove around for about an hour down every street with
my laptop and ran a wireless network detector and counted how many wireless
connections are here in town.

things people do in facebook
Any games in Facebook IE: Farmville, Cityville, and the various pages
you have to join or have to hit the like button to view a video. These are
things we need to watch out with. as soon as you click that button to accept
thats like saying okay to what ever you didn't read in the eula "end user license
agreement" here is an article that points out a bit of things you may not have
known

Brown out.
Last week on Saturday July 9th at about 1pm here in Nashua we had a power
outage and at first it was just a "Brown out" where half of the power was still there
this gave you lights to some of the rooms in the house but it also dimmed the lights.
20 min after that we had a total shut down for at least 1 hour. since that day we
have had 3 computers come in because of power supply deaths... and one of our
own computers died here in the house ...

CD burner software
CD burner software
I have used a few different types of CD burner software over the years and usually I get
Nero burning rom or some obscure software I have never heard of before that comes free
with my burner, problem is its limited and sometimes you have to purchase the whole thing
to get the full use of the product.

Software reviews
If you are like me you don't like to pay for software... but you also don't like to go the illegal
way either. Well you are in luck I like to be the advocate of free software. I like to try out
and play with the software and then tell you about it so you don't have to worry if its safe or not.

Rogue Security Software
What is a Rogue Virus?
"Rogue security software (or rogueware) is a form of computer malware that deceives or misleads users into paying for the fake or simulated removal of malware, or that installs other malware. Rogue security software, in recent years (2008–2011), has become a growing and serious security threat in desktop computing."
